Sweater Weather

Hello blog world, I am happy to say I’m back. Where did I go? Well, no where and everywhere to be exact. This past week has just been one of those times when everyday is jam-packed. But, I have a nice, long entry to make up for it. As I walked to class this week, I could not help but notice how chilly the temperature has gotten outside. It’s only Arizona, but that has not stopped me from wrapping up in sweatshirts, yoga pants, and fuzzy socks. In the spirit of the upcoming winter, or as wintery as it gets in Phoenix, I will accept my nomination for The “Sweater Weather” Challenge by 1617 Sunshine Ave and complete the questions about the upcoming (and basically current season) with my own spin on everything. Let’s dive right in shall we:

1.What is your favorite candle flavor?

Apple cider candles are my absolute favorite. Maybe it’s the child in me who remembers indulging in countless cups of hot apple cider during the holiday season or maybe it’s the warm and inviting smell that these candles bring, but either way, apple cider candles can make any place feel like home.

2. Coffee, tea or hot chocolate?

Hot chocolate hands down. Who doesn’t love a little hot coco & marshmallows?

3. What is the best Autumn memory you have?

I believe it was 8th grade, but all I can say for sure is that it feels like a lifetime ago already. But that day in Autumn was special. I spent it with two of the most important people to me, my mother and my aunt Jen Jen. We were running around Texas doing all my favorite things, of course, like shopping, having starbucks, watching my brother play hockey, and getting in some much deserved family time. One of the best parts of that day though was when we came across this park in the middle of town, and if there’s one thing you should know about me.. I never give up the chance to be a kid again… especially when it comes to parks. Ever since I was young I have loved playing in parks, and it remains one of my favorite things. Now just imagine me rolling around in the Autumn leaves of red, yellow, and orange and throwing them up high in the air and dancing around like an idiot. That was my favorite day.

4. Which fall trend do you prefer – dark lips or winged eyeliner?

Dark lips… Definitely.

5. Your favorite fragrance for fall?

I can’t say I have one specifically for fall… I’m not much of a perfume wearer, but I still have the bottle from probably 3 years ago when my parents gave me that oh so desired Taylor Swift perfume on Christmas morning.

6. What is your favorite Autumn food?

Definitely cookies. I feel like this season as the holidays roll around, it makes people want to bake and be extra kind which equals Jessie eating many delicious cookies.

7. What is the Autumn weather like where you live?

It’s pretty nice out right now, but I love when it gets a little colder out so I have an excuse to break out my jackets and boots.

8. What is your most worn sweater?

I’m more of a jacket person & I have the cutest green jackets.

9. Your must-have polish for Autumn?

I do have a must-have, but if I’m going to be 100% honest, they’re really my go-to polishes all year round, but lincoln park after dark & big apple red.

10. Football games or jumping into leaf piles?

Football games. Is this really a question?

11. Skinny jeans or leggings?

I love my jeans and a cute pair of boots, but I also love my leggings and a cute pair of boots… so both.

12. Combat boots or uggs?

Combat boots all the way.

13. Is pumpkin spice worth the hype?

The other day my friend texted me asking if I wanted anything from starbucks and types “PSL?”. I actually had to ask another friend before replying because I had no idea that PSL stood for pumpkin spice latte. So, I know the hype is real, but for me, I’ll always be a hot chocolate kind of girl.

14. What is your favorite fall premiering show?

Being in college I’m a little out of the loop with new shows that are premiering since I don’t have a TV, but when I’m watching Netflix, I’m watching Scandal.

15. What song really gets you into Autumn?

Anything Christmas gets me in the mood for these upcoming holidays. In my eyes, it’s never to early to break out the Christmas albums.

16. Halloween, yay or nay?

YAY. I love Halloween. It is one of my favorite holidays & with it being my first year in college it became not just one night of Halloween, but Halloweekend & it was epic.

17. Autumn mornings or Autumn evening?

I’m that weird breed of person who is both a morning person and a night owl so Autumn mornings and nights are both a fine time of the day.

18. What do you think about Black Friday?

I think yes on Black Friday. I have only been twice before, and I can’t tell you that I’ve ever gotten any really amazing deals or anything, but going with a group of friends and pulling an all-nighter is what makes the experience fun.

19. What is an Autumn 2015 trend you are loving?

Maybe I’m just not that trendy (but I would like to imagine I have some style), but around campus I haven’t really noticed any overwhelming trends in clothing. However, I dig people who can pull off the cute floppy hat look because I am not one of those people.

20. Your favorite pie?

Apple pie is the bomb.

Halloween done. Next stop Thanksgiving. Then Santa will be coming down for Christmas. So, my question for you is: what is your favorite dish for Thanksgiving dinner? Comment below, I can’t wait to see what everyone loves to eat.. I mean let’s be honest.. we know we all love to eat.

  1. Amazing that you got around to doing it! It was very fun to read…
My favorite thanksgiving dish? hmmm…all of them?! Although I can´t get enough of the mashed potatoes…I know that´s a little weird, and it´s not really typical for thanksgiving, but I´ll have to go with it. What´s yours?

    1. Yes I loved being nominated and have wanted to do it from the beginning, just waiting for the perfect time! It’s not weird at all.. The mashed potatoes are my favorite too! I also would have to say all the desserts.. I definitely have a sweet tooth!

  2. Awesome update and great fall fun. My favorite fall dessert is a Pumpkin Spice cake that my daughter makes. Can’t wait for Thanksgiving.

  3. Hi there! Thanks for stopping by and following my blog. I enjoyed reading these response – I’ll admit I don’t think I ever considered it got cold enough for sweaters in Arizona, except at night in the desert! I do love autumn though, the food, colours, Halloween, everything!
