Last night at exactly 8:42pm, and I remember the time vividly, I walked out of my last final exam for the first semester of my Freshman year. I don’t know if it was the pure agony of mathematics, the fact that my final was from 7-9 at night, the realization that this was my last exam, or perhaps a moment of happiness for the month off I knew that moment signified. Whatever it was… I couldn’t of walked out of that lecture hall any faster and been any happier doing so.
So.. my first semester is over. It’s hard to believe that it was only 4 months ago when I started college and now it’s already Christmas break. I thought High School went by fast, but wow… college moves even quicker. Although it feels like my time has been short, my time spent at ASU has also been great. I could not be happier to attend the University I do, and to be a student at Barrett, The Honors College. Yes, sometimes my life is complex, sometimes it feels like the work will never end, but all in all, the experience has been incredible. I am so blessed to go to the school my mother went to, and to attend school with and live right across the street from my brother. Being able to go to school with my brother has been one of the greatest parts about ASU… we are of course siblings by blood but we are best friends by choice.
Before I sign off, I could not end this post without mentioning the other biggest aspect of my life at ASU and how genuinely proud I am to be a part of it. That would be Kappa Alpha Theta. I never knew how much being in a sorority would mean to me, but if this semester has taught me anything, it’s that it means a whole lot. I am so thankful for each and every one of my sisters that I have grown close with and been fortunate enough to spend these past couple months with. I honestly can say that my semester wouldn’t of been filled with so much joy, laughter, and light if they weren’t in it.
This first semester was amazing, and I owe it all to the people I’ve met thus far. Thank you.
